Hey Frances, thanks for your 'likes' and the comments on my blog! Are you in Australia!?! I don't think this plant is in the orchid family. There's a lot of info about it on Wikipedia. They are pretty easy to find around here (West Virginia, USA). We do have a number of wild orchids here, too, but not so easy to find.

I remember being really shocked to find we have a wide variety of local native orchids in South Australian bushland.
