Background is 81/2X11 watercolor wash. The body is banana Thai paper. Legs and mane of batik fabric, paper saddle, yarn tail, shiny paper for hooves and saddle details, beads for eye and nostril, chenille yarn bridle, wire stirrup.
I wanted to do this quickly (which is probably obvious!) and tear things out instead of cutting where possible to make it more spontaneous and playful. Also wanted depth and texture, so didn't glue things flat and encouraged wrinkles. Used as many different kinds of materials as I had.
Another fun project for kids!
