Day 239 ~ Work with black and white. + Day 240 ~ Work with chopsticks.
To begin creating this image I used black house paint and a wide Chinese brush to paint a rough circle onto watercolor paper. I placed chopsticks in a random pattern over the circle. One light source created shadows on the surface for a high-contrast photo.
In Picasa I inverted the image to black and white and posterized it, then boosted the contrast. I turned it in different directions and decided on this orientation. You might like it rotated one way or the other.
I plan to try this as a layer, applied with acrylic medium, as part of a mixed media piece.
